Evidence CXXVIII: A New Old One

So Hoss got a line on someone building a swimmer/skater -- although his wife doesn't yet know that he plans to skate in it during the winter? That's going to be an awkward conversation at some point, or maybe he can just skate whenever she's not around... Went there with Dirt McGirt to discuss tranny and coping options. He also fixes up and flips houses, and he told of a nearby one with an empty pool -- he owned it, so we had permission. We go to check it out... Above, Courtney gets FSGrrrrrr.
Some work ahead but bound to be a gem.
the pool we got turned on to wound up being a 1950s-era Anthony, and despite some cancerous lesions quite a gem. Check the ladder-light-box face wall. Joe and Hoss getting dirty cleaning it up.
Crazy pump and filtration system from the 1950s -- held on with vice grips.
Yep -- it's an Anthony. Cool one-screw light (with tab at the bottom to hold it in) and of course that signature coping.
Dirt owned it. BSG over the hip.
The Evidence and Anthony, like two long lost pals.
Above, Joe Dirt ruling the place: Over the light, over the stairs, over the ladder, over the death box.
And then carving light and ladder, to frontside air truck bash. Unstoppable.

Evidence CXXVII: Another visit to the gem

The crew came out east to return to this gem. More work on the house -- the roof is under construction -- so yep, the clock is still ticking. But we'll take those sessions we can get... Livingston, FSG, shallow end.
Dirt, bs tailslide (the old kind) in the pocket, as Courtman and Dickborg lurk on in the love seat.
The evidence is getting rolled over repeatedly.
Impromptu pool party at the pad after the session. Always nice to see Vargas. How many varieties of beer can you count?

Evidence CXXVI: The clock is ticking

Uh oh... as you can see from the background in the photos, the landscape at this gem is changing rapidly -- new windows, trimmed trees, they took out a whole room that was an addition, piles of garbage waiting to be picked up... It's construction time, which usually means someone is getting the place in order to either move in, sell, or rent. It also means they might take care of the pool, but maybe not. either way, the clock is ticking on this one. Above, B-Rad gets more Anthony FSGs.
Messing with the love seat, weird angle, but it's a go.
Bret gets some shreddage with a BSG. Got him out of the garage.

Evidence CXXV: Return to Playland

Took a week off of skating due to strained ligaments in my right knee. Back in physical therapy last week and it’s feeling better. Been busy at the house, painting, doing all kinds of shit, but felt the urge to grind some cope. Hoss and I hit up this gem on a Sunday evening as the sun went down. Evidence of people doing a lot of work on the house – new windows and doors, garbage bags. What does it mean? Clock is ticking…
Hoss grinds backside
The evidence is accompanied by beer.

Who knew? Teri Garr: Badass

Saw a couple posts by friends on Facebook, for some reason it's going around: Teri Garr was an awesome go-go dancer in the 1960s. She worked on a few teen romp films, and was a regular at concerts and TV shows (Shindig! and Hullabaloo, among others) as well. Then I found out she was on the T.A.M.I. show. Have you seen that video yet? Recently released (I think the Beach Boys held up its release over copyright or something like that), it's an amazing concert film with headliners the beach boys, Rolling Stones, and James Brown. they introduce Chuck Berry as an oldie, but shit, it's the mid-60s! Above, with the Supremes.
As a Whizbam Girl on The Cool ones.
With Elvis!
With Toni Basil, another go go girl!

Shake that shit!
This is a new post, and for some reason it won't load to the page. Click the link, however, to see her in a killer short film by John Harris, "Where's the Bus?" -- bonus Herb Alpert and the TJB soundtrack!

Evidence CXXIV: Injured reserve gets in the game

So some hullabaloo over what constitutes the "rules" for spreading the word to a few homies. Bottom line: we got a small crew who we share info with, none are fools, none get busted for doing stupid shit. Courtney and the guys pumped this pool from the top, so in my book they're entitled to tell who they want, although the guy who told 'em where it is begged to differ and apparently got mad about it. No need for ire -- again, nobody busted, nobody doing stupid shit, just taking pleasure in riding an amazing bowl with a few friends... Above, B-Rad gets what he claims are his first frontside grinds on Anthony. We were all nursing aches and pains this day, so it was a quick session and we all just tried to hold it down.
Evidence remains, but trips over the stairs can cause some damage.
Hoss gets a taste of the love seat. This thing will open up...
Sexy curves on this one...

Evidence CXXIII: Two in the Bush

Another lazy Sunday -- well, not really, did a shit ton of work around the house. But the afternoon came and it was time to shred. Dirt and the boys were on this side of town pumping out a new one. While that was drying, we headed east to check on another. Beastly cool deck, but a cool little channel feature. Fun but tough.
Joe Dirt blasts the channel frontside.
I know, excuses, excuses, but switching from phone camera to snapper means adjusting to two different lags in the shutter.
Court had no problemo crushing the deck.
This one as a gem found by Robbie. Apparently full to the brim, these guys pumped it dry so that when we came back it would be good to go. Amazing bowl, big, open, reminiscent of the 803 and Hobbit Hole...
Joe did not make this exact back-d, he made the one before it. Because I lagged on getting a shot of the first one, I only got bails. But it looked killer, just like this. Sorry, bail shot, I suck, lies, etc., etc.
Robbie got his grinds on.
Look carefully, it's Court smashing through the box.

Trip to Boston

Killer trip to Boston to visit Meg, summed up by a chimpanzee flashing her boobs. Yep, that's Boston.
Did a tour of part of the Freedom Trail. FFRREEEEEEEEDDDDOOOMMMM! Yeah! Tons of grave dating back to the 17th century, many have skulls and crossbones, skulls and wings, full skeletons, etc. Apparently the Puritans did not like depictions of the sacred (angels, cherubs) on their graves, considered them heresy, and preferred the profane. Freaking' cool as shit.
The answer is "yes."
Last night in Beantown equals lobstah dinner, stuffed clams, beer, rolls and salad. Thanks Meggers! Miss you, see you soon.
Meg's got this picture of us at the Shady Dell in Bisbee. This is in Sept 2011, after 9-11, before we were engaged and after we'd been dating a couple months long distance. Probably spent a total of 8 days hanging out when this was taken. My '64 Valiant and the 12' homemade trailer. Great times (and I had all of my fingers back then).
Had to throw this one in there. This is in Tempe the day before I left. Apparently someone drove through a jizz storm and hadn't yet washed their car? Disgusting!
